Pear Tree is a Leuven-based indie-pop band with elements of jazz, bossa nova, soul, and psychedelia. Pear Tree’s music is dreamy and poetic, like the feeling of a sunset, or a stroll under streetlights. Pear Tree aims to capture emotions through songs.

Joanne is from Thailand and is studying in Belgium. She has been singing and playing instruments since she was young and made it to the battle rounds of The Voice Kids Thailand in 2017. Kai is Belgian-Indonesian and has been studying piano since a young age. He is also currently the drummer of Neptune Bloom.

The two met and started making music together, always having to walk through “Pear Tree Street” (Pereboomstraat) to meet up, which became their band name.
